New details have been released by investigators as they continue to probe the fire at the St. Paul Praise and Worship Center on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville.

Crews were called at around 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 14 to the church, where they were met by flames coming from the first floor that spread to the second story and into the steeple of the building.

According to investigators, windy conditions caused trouble for firefighters, though they managed to bring the situation under control.

Once the flames were knocked down, crews found that the doors to the worship area had been closed, which prevented any smoke or fire from damaging the sanctuary.

It was later determined that a malfunctioning electrical junction box was the cause and origin of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
